BREAKING: Court bars journalists from covering suspected coup plotters’ trial

A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred journalists from covering the bail proceedings of six defendants accused of plotting a coup against President Bola Tinubu’s government. Department of State Services operatives ordered reporters to leave the courtroom shortly before trial judge Justice Joyce Abdulmalik took her seat. The defendants, including a retired major-general and Islamic clerics, were arraigned last Wednesday over an alleged failed coup.
