Power Cuts: Senegalese Businesses Losing Money Even When Electricity Returns

Since September 6, several areas in Senegal have been experiencing power cuts due to technical incidents, including a failure of the FSRU system at the Karpowership floating plant. Businesses, such as bakers and restaurateurs, face significant losses due to damaged equipment and lost goods. Additionally, voltage fluctuations during the restoration of electricity cause material damage, worsening the financial situation for businesses. SENELEC has also scheduled maintenance cuts in certain neighborhoods of Dakar until September 27.
