Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, commissioned the Southern District office of the Homeland Safety and Security Agency in Calabar to strengthen community-based security architecture. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Emmanuel Ironbar, he emphasized the importance of this initiative amid rising insecurity in Nigeria. Over 1,300 volunteers are already supporting operations in the Southern District, and the state government provided 14 motorcycles to improve mobility in difficult terrains.
