Magama/Rijau APC Primary: Court defers ruling on disputed name change in candidate suit

The Federal High Court in Minna reserved ruling on an application to amend the plaintiff's name in the suit challenging the APC primary for Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency. The plaintiff, Alhaji Shehu Samaila Auna, seeks to invalidate the primary that produced Professor Yakubu Mohammed Auna as the party's candidate for the 2027 general elections. The ruling on the application is scheduled for July 16, 2026. The defence counsel argued the application is incompetent and an afterthought.
