Ziguinchor University: Teachers suspend all activities

The local coordination of the Autonomous Union of Higher Education (SAES) at Assane Seck University in Ziguinchor will suspend teaching and administrative activities from 8 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026. The decision follows the non-payment of October salaries to teaching and research staff. At a general assembly on October 31, union members denounced recurring delays and called for salaries to be paid regularly and on time. The suspension will continue until the salaries are paid in full, and SAES says it will repeat the measure on the first working day of each month if payments are late again.
