National Assembly: Muhindo Nzangi questioned over $57 million in AfDB funding for youth agricultural entrepreneurship

On Wednesday, October 21, MP Hermione Bolumbe Bakando questioned State Minister for Agriculture Muhindo Nzangi at the National Assembly about the progress of the Youth Entrepreneurship in Agriculture and Agribusiness Project (PEJAB), whose deadline was December 2025. Lawmakers asked how many businesses had been created and young people funded, and how the $57 million provided by the African Development Bank had been used. Nzangi said the funds remain available and are being disbursed gradually, and that young people have received training in fish farming, livestock, mushroom cultivation, agriculture and food processing. He added that funding agreements restrict redirecting resources to activities or provinces not originally planned.
