Man targeted Muslims, Africans and North Africans, French prosecutors say

Kevin T, 39, admitted targeting people he perceived as Muslim, African or North African in a shooting in Trappes and La Verrière, west of Paris. One person, Pengo Bossio Wangi, a 26-year-old French citizen of Congolese heritage, was killed and seven others were injured; a child was among the victims. The suspect faces murder, attempted-murder and terrorist-enterprise charges and said he felt no regret, though he claimed he had not intended to kill children. Investigators found weapons and components, a copy of Mein Kampf, religious texts and National Rally stickers at his home.

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Ogun State reportedly invited three leaders of the Fusengbuwa ruling house over the sale of expression-of-interest forms to princes seeking the vacant Awujale stool of Ijebuland. Yusuf confirmed receiving the letter but said he was in Abuja for a Supreme Court matter; Ajidagba also confirmed the invitation and questioned its timing, saying the succession issues were already before the courts. The DSS did not immediately confirm the invitations, amid a dispute following the death of Oba Sikiru Adetona in July 2025.
