CAF Announces AFCON 2027 Opening and Final Dates

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will take place on Saturday, June 19, 2027, with the final scheduled for Saturday, July 17, 2027. This tournament will be historic as it will be co-hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, marking the return of the competition to East Africa since 1976. A total of 24 teams will participate in the finals, and the draw for the qualifiers is set for May 19.
