Cameroon: Tchiroma faces a surprising offer to access the presidency in 90 days

Since April 13, 2026, a document circulating on social media offers Issa Tchiroma Bakary, presented as the 'elected president', a chance to lead the state in less than 90 days. Ben Modo, a critic of Paul Biya's regime, submitted a contract that includes a $125 billion investment to create a maritime corridor and generate five million jobs in Cameroon. The project also plans to build twelve river ports, with work expected to start in January 2027.
