Cemac: BEAC injects over 360 billion FCFA into banks to stimulate credit

On May 12, 2026, the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) injected 364.2 billion FCFA into banks in the Cemac zone. This operation aims to stimulate credit, although the demand from banks was lower than the 550 billion FCFA offered by BEAC. In comparison, during the second half of 2025, demand had significantly exceeded supply, prompting BEAC to gradually increase available funds to 800 billion FCFA.
