Chad says 7 kidnapped by Boko Haram, 1 dead in Niger

Seven Chadians were kidnapped by Boko Haram near the border with Niger, according to Chad's embassy in Niamey. The abduction occurred on the road between N'Guigmi and Daboua, and one of the hostages was killed under tragic circumstances. The Lake Chad region, which spans Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad, serves as a sanctuary for Boko Haram and the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP).
