Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, who called himself director general of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), was arrested in Osun State after weeks on the run. His arrest followed a warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja for forgery and impersonation. President Bola Tinubu had ordered a corruption investigation into the fictitious agency, which had secured a budget of almost $1 million. Police confirmed that the signature of the president's chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, on the appointment letter was forged.
