Cheikh Oumar Diagne: "Shirk is more serious than homosexuality"

In an interview on Fafa TV, Cheikh Oumar Diagne stated that 'shirk', or the association of other entities with God, is the main social and religious deviation in Senegal. While condemning homosexuality, he believes that idolatry and the excessive sanctification of certain public figures are more serious sins. He also advocated for avoiding the stigmatization of individuals arrested for unnatural acts, while calling for the disclosure of the serological status of those accused of willfully transmitting HIV.
