At least five villages in the Babuyu sector of Kabambare territory (Maniema) have been emptied of their residents following violent clashes between two Wazalendo factions since the beginning of the week. The fighting, now in its fifth day, involves groups led by self-proclaimed generals Brown and Mundos at the border between Maniema and South Kivu. Displaced people are being hosted in Misisi, Lulimba, and Butale in Fizi territory, worsening an already critical humanitarian situation. Fizi territory administrator Samy Badibanga urges both factions to prioritize dialogue and peace.
