Franco-Beninese journalist Claudy Siar was appointed as Chargé de mission for culture, media, and visibility of Benin by President Romuald Wadagni on June 3, 2026. Siar reacted on X, stating that his team would be fully committed to Benin. He had obtained Beninese nationality on May 22, 2026 in Ouidah, joining the Zossoungbo lineage. Former host of Couleurs Tropicales on RFI for three decades, he is also founder of Tropiques FM.
