FMC Abeokuta resident doctors begin 3-day strike over recurring theft

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abeokuta began a three-day warning strike on June 4, 2026, following a theft at the House Officers' Quarters. Stolen items included five mobile phones, a laptop, cash, and a driver's license. ARD President Dr. Olanipekun Quadri Arise-Kola demands replacement of items, a change of security provider, and installation of CCTV cameras. The strike is set to run until Saturday unless management provides assurances.
