Community Justice: Guinea Hosts Off-Site Hearings of the ECOWAS Court

Guinea is hosting the off-site hearings of the ECOWAS Court for the first time, taking place from May 15 to 18, 2026, in Conakry. Prior to these sessions, an awareness mission was launched on May 13 to inform the public about the role and functioning of this court. The Chief Registrar, Dr. Yaouza Ouro-Sama, clarified that the Court is not an appellate jurisdiction but a first and last resort institution whose decisions are final.
