Ivory Coast: 6 people sentenced to life for jihadist attack

Six people were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Abidjan court for a jihadist attack in 2020 that killed fourteen Ivorian soldiers in Kafolo, near the border with Burkina Faso. Out of 45 defendants, 17 received 20-year prison sentences, while another was sentenced to 5 years. The attack, attributed to jihadists operating from Burkina Faso, occurred on the night of June 10-11, 2020.
