Human Rights Minister Samuel Mbemba stated that the Leopards' qualification for the 2026 World Cup is for all Congolese and will allow them to voice the victims of genocide in Eastern DRC. This qualification was secured with a victory against Jamaica, with a goal from Axel Tuanzebe in the 100th minute. DRC is placed in Group K alongside Portugal, Colombia, and Uzbekistan.
