Court bars INEC from recognising ADC congresses conducted by Mark-led leadership

The Federal High Court in Abuja barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising or participating in any congress organised by the disputed caretaker leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Senator David Mark. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ruled that the responsibility for conducting state congresses lies with the state executive committees of the party, not the national executive committee. She affirmed that the four-year tenure of the ADC's State Working Committees remains valid until properly constituted state congresses are held.
