Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Abuja Federal High Court sentenced Ali Kolo, a victim of Boko Haram, to nine years in prison after more than ten years in detention. Kolo, who was shot by terrorists in Borno, was found guilty of failing to report the group's activities. Although he pleaded guilty to concealment of information, the judge acknowledged that his inability to report the terrorists was due to circumstances beyond his control. He ordered Kolo's immediate release, having already served over ten years in detention.
