Cross River awaits justice on disputed oil wells

Cross River State is still awaiting justice after losing trillions of naira due to the transfer of disputed oil wells to Akwa Ibom State. A recent report from the Inter-Agency Technical Committee confirmed that Cross River is entitled to 13% of the derivation revenue from the affected wells. Governor Bassey Otu stated that the report's findings refute the belief that the state lost its littoral status after the cession of the Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon in 2008.
