Crown Paints ‘adds colour’ to loss-making Tanzania unit but shuts Kenya operation - The EastAfrican

Crown Paints injected Ksh791.47 million ($6.13 million) into its loss-making Tanzanian subsidiary and built a depot in Dodoma and a new factory in Dar es Salaam as part of recovery measures. It also discontinued operations of its Kenyan subsidiary, Crown Paints Allied Industries, and initiated deregistration. The Ugandan and Tanzanian subsidiaries have a history of losses, and all subsidiaries rely on the parent for working capital. Impairment losses on subsidiaries surged to Ksh914 million in 2025, up from Ksh150 million the previous year.
