CS Cheptumo Launches 90-Day Drive Against Violence on Children in Central Region

The Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services has launched a 90-day initiative to combat violence against children in Nyeri, Murang’a, and Tharaka Nithi counties. Cabinet Secretary Hanna Wendot Cheptumo announced the initiative following a child protection meeting. Investigations are ongoing regarding recent incidents, including the recovery of two children's bodies from the Kiama River. Cheptumo also announced the establishment of a national child helpline and a multisector meeting scheduled for May 22.
