The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum reduced electricity prices by Ksh0.2685 per kWh for the June 2026 cycle, attributed to increased hydropower generation, a drop in the forex adjustment component, and lower fuel energy costs. The decision followed a meeting with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) and provides relief after a Ksh1.10 increase in May. The ministry also withdrew Kenya Power's tariff review application that would have raised bills.
