The Kenyan government has revived the South Lokichar Oil Project in Turkana County, led by Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi. The first shipment of crude oil is expected before the end of the year, with promises of transparency and collaboration with local leaders. The project, which has been underdeveloped since its discovery in 2012, was revived after Gulf Company took over following Tullow Oil's departure in 2025.
