Catastrophic floods swept through Nepal on August 26, killing over 1,200 people and leaving nearly 5,000 others missing. Relatives, unable to find the bodies, are performing symbolic last rites using effigies made of sacred grass. Khim Bahadur Gharti Magar has held such rites for his missing uncle and aunt, who were on a pilgrimage, after finding other deceased members of their group.
