The High Court ruled that public-private partnership (PPP) projects with financial obligations for the State must receive parliamentary approval, strengthening legislative oversight of taxpayer-funded infrastructure deals. The court found parts of the PPP Act unconstitutional for excluding Parliament from approving PPP arrangements that create government expenditure or other financial liabilities.
