Youssou Ndour: “I’ll tell you the truth about the late-night incident…”

Youssou Ndour says his Bercy concert, scheduled for 8:30 p.m., started late because a strike in France caused access problems and only two entrances were opened. Less than 30% of the audience was inside by 9 p.m.; he refused to begin until 80% of concertgoers had arrived, then took the stage at 10 p.m. and performed the planned three-hour show. He criticizes the venue organizers for cutting his microphone with two songs still to go and says he asked for the stage to be switched back on so he could finish.
