The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) launched a mission in Kinshasa on October 19 to assess access to public services for people with disabilities across the DRC. Investigators will visit administrative buildings, health facilities and educational institutions to check for features including ramps, adapted elevators, appropriate signage and accessible toilets. The mission aims to monitor implementation of Congolese laws and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and to prevent exclusion or marginalization. The CNDH plans to issue a detailed report after the operation.
