Naval base will boost security along Taraba waterways, says Gov Kefas

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State said the establishment of a Nigerian Navy base in the state will improve surveillance and security along waterways. He received a delegation from Naval Headquarters led by Rear Admiral Jonathan Joseph Nwunuji Mamman. The proposed base is intended to secure the Kashimbila Waterway, which forms part of the border with Cameroon, and provide training opportunities for local residents. Rear Admiral Mamman highlighted the strategic importance of the Kashimbila River, which hosts a hydroelectric project.
