Defense: Israel approves the purchase of new American fighter jets F-35 and F-15I

The Israeli ministerial committee responsible for military acquisitions has approved the purchase of two new squadrons of fighter jets, including a fourth squadron of F-35s and a new squadron of F-15IAs. This decision, justified by lessons learned from the conflict with Iran, is part of a military capacity enhancement program estimated at 350 billion shekels. The purchase also strengthens the military partnership between Israel and the United States, with several billion dollars in arms approved since January 2025.
