FCC warns MDAs against recruitment without approval

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) against conducting recruitment, promotions or other personnel-related exercises without the Commission's involvement, warning violators risk sanctions. The warning was issued during an interactive meeting between the FCC Committee on Works, Transport and Aviation and the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in Abuja. Committee Chairman Peter Eze said the Commission was shifting from a reactive to a proactive approach in enforcing the Federal Character Principle. NRC Managing Director Kayode Opeifa described the engagement as beneficial and reaffirmed the corporation's commitment to compliance.
