Demography: Over 355,000 agents mobilized for the 4th general population census

The Cameroonian government has mobilized over 355,000 agents for the 4th General Population and Housing Census, scheduled from April 24 to May 29, 2026. Training workshops have been organized for supervisors and team leaders, and pilot operations have been conducted in all ten regions of the country. This census aims to update the socio-demographic and agropastoral data of Cameroon.

Wouri Riverbank Road: CUD mobilizes 1.8 billion FCFA to compensate 300 households

The Douala Urban Community (CUD) has mobilized 1.8 billion FCFA to compensate 300 households affected by the Wouri riverbank road development project. The funds are available and will be disbursed soon to facilitate the progress of the construction, which connects the Maetur Roundabout to Denver over a 1.5 km stretch. Officially launched in March 2025, the project is expected to be completed by 2027, with financing of 41.4 billion FCFA provided by China First Highway Engineering Company.

Douala-Bangui and Douala-Ndjamena Corridors: CNCC Plans to Install Service Stations in Its Living Centers

The National Council of Cargo Handlers of Cameroon (CNCC) has issued a call for expressions of interest to install service stations along the Douala-Bangui and Douala-Ndjamena corridors. General Director Auguste Mbappè Penda is seeking a technical and financial partner to design, finance, implement, operate, and maintain these stations. The project aims to provide an integrated service for transporters, including refueling, dining, and accommodation, while diversifying CNCC's revenue sources. Applications are due by April 17, 2026.
