Motorists Attacked as Goons Block Southern Bypass, Police Restore Order

Goons blocked the Southern Bypass this morning, causing traffic standstill at Thogoto and Gitaru. Burning tyres and stones were placed on the road, while groups of youths armed with batons attacked motorists and pedestrians. The chaotic scenes were preceded by accusations between Rigathi Gachagua and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah regarding an alleged plot to disrupt a political rally. Police have since restored order, and traffic is flowing freely again.
