MPs slam ‘watered down’ Ad Hoc report

Members of the Ad Hoc Committee investigating allegations by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi described the second draft preliminary report as 'watered down' and not reflecting the evidence led before it. Content advisor Christine Silkstone noted that the committee is an oversight body, not a court. The report found governance weaknesses and unresolved allegations, including against suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and suspended Deputy National Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya, but did not find evidence of corruption against former minister Bheki Cele.
