Experts have raised alarm over increasing threats from pollution, climate change, and human activities to water resources in Niger State, Nigeria. During a sensitization programme organized by the Future Earth Water Science Cluster Programme, Dr. Dan Hassan noted that only 2.5% of Earth's water is freshwater and less than 1% is readily available for human use. Urbanization, industrialization, and illegal mining were identified as key contributors to water pollution. The programme, held at Tagwai Dam, a major water source for Minna, aimed to promote environmental awareness among young people.
