'Exceptional individuals like Soyinka do not come often in generation' - Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu paid tribute to Professor Wole Soyinka on his 92nd birthday, describing him as an exceptional figure whose contributions to literature, democracy and good governance have left a lasting impact. Tinubu noted that Soyinka became the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 and lauded his courageous role in the struggle against military rule and the June 12 democratic movement. He called Soyinka one of Nigeria's greatest national assets, whose wisdom and commitment continue to inspire generations of writers and activists.
