Tanzanian painters shine posthumously, as the second East Africa and Indian Ocean Arts Auction comes up in 2026

The second edition of the East Africa and Indian Ocean Arts Auction is scheduled for October 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. Tanzanian artists Sam Ntiro and the late Kiure Francis Msangi topped the inaugural 2025 edition, with Msangi's painting 'Baobab Under the Red Moon' (1968) fetching US$27,271. The auction is a collaboration between Circle Art Agency and Strauss & Co, with a special focus on Msangi's works. Consignments are open until August 31, 2026.
