Mississippi residents sue Musk’s xAI and SpaceX over data centre ‘nuisance’

Mississippi residents have filed a class action lawsuit against SpaceX and xAI, alleging that a power plant fueling data centers in Southaven emits 'omnipresent and inescapable' noise harming their health and property values. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Oxford, Mississippi, estimates the class includes over 10,000 people. Plaintiffs seek damages for emotional distress and reduced home values, as well as disgorgement of unspecified profits. xAI invested more than $20 billion in the plant with backing from Governor Tate Reeves, while the NAACP also sued xAI in April over environmental rule violations.
