Energy PS, Epra and KPC chiefs arrested over fuel imports

Key officials in Kenya's energy sector, including Energy Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban and KPC Managing Director Joe Sang, were arrested in an operation linked to an investigation into fuel imports and quality concerns. The arrests are connected to a controversial fuel consignment imported under a government-to-government arrangement, which reportedly contained elevated sulphur levels that do not meet Kenyan standards. Investigators are also looking into allegations of fuel importation outside the government framework by two local oil firms.
