South Africans march against "illegal immigration" in Johannesburg

A new wave of xenophobic tensions is shaking South Africa. On Wednesday, activists opposed to illegal immigration marched through the streets of Johannesburg, following similar mobilizations in Durban. Many businesses remained closed, and groups threatened individuals suspected of being in an irregular situation. Tshepo Totwe stated that these actions aim to defend the rights of South African citizens and rejected accusations of xenophobia.
