Senegal's Debt: IMF Announces Mission to Dakar After Ousmane Sonko's Departure from the Prime Ministry

This comes after Ousmane Sonko left the Prime Ministry to become President of the National Assembly. Sonko reiterated his opposition to debt restructuring, stating that President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Finance Minister Cheikh Diba had made no commitment to the IMF on that issue. The technical discussions aim to reach a common understanding of macroeconomic prospects and financing needs.
