2 Nigerians, one other jailed in UK after stealing almost £5m in police impersonation scam

Three men, including two Nigerians, were sentenced to a combined 28 years and 9 months in prison for stealing nearly £5 million in cryptocurrency through a police impersonation scam. Anthony Ikenwe (29), Hamza Bashir (23), and Kevin Nwamma (25) posed as police officers and pressured victims into sharing account details or transferring assets. They used dark web data and fake websites to obtain sensitive information. Eight victims are known, but the true number could be higher.
