In Côte d'Ivoire, the cost of 50,000 FCFA for obtaining a medical certificate is a barrier to justice for women victims of gender-based violence. In 2023, 8,862 cases of GBV were recorded, including 1,091 cases of rape. Despite government efforts to protect women's rights, access to care and justice remains hindered by the limited implementation of existing measures. President Alassane OUATTARA reaffirmed his commitment to women's protection.
