Dieudonné Essomba: "Normally, the Pope would have blessed the new Vice President"

The law establishing the position of Vice President of Cameroon was enacted on April 14, 2026, just before Pope Léon XIV's arrival. Dieudonné Essomba stated that if the Vice President's appointment and the formation of a new government had occurred during the papal visit, it would have had a greater significance. He criticized the current government, claiming it missed an important opportunity to enhance the visit.
