Djibouti: Ismail Omar Guelleh re-elected for a 6th term

Djibouti's President Ismail Omar Guelleh has been re-elected for a sixth term with 97.81% of the votes in Friday's election, the results of which still need to be confirmed by the Constitutional Council. At 78 years old, Guelleh has led Djibouti for over two decades and faced only one opponent, Mohamed Farah Samatar. The elections were marked by a boycott from opposition groups, citing restrictions on political freedoms.
