DRC: WFP and Mettelsat Commit to Improving Climate Data and Disaster Prevention

The World Food Programme (WFP) and the National Agency for Meteorology and Satellite Remote Sensing (METTELSAT) in the DRC signed a protocol to launch the SOFF project, aimed at strengthening meteorological observation networks. The project includes installing 68 surface weather stations, 12 high-altitude observation stations, and deploying eight automatic stations in Kinshasa. The goal is to ensure regular transmission of data meeting international standards to better anticipate climate-related disasters.
