The 70m-long 11th-century Bayeux Tapestry was brought from northern France to London last week, chaperoned by police. It will go on display at the British Museum in September. This is the first time in over 900 years that the embroidery, depicting events leading up to the Battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest in 1066, has returned to the UK.
