The Directorate General of Customs (DGD) collected 260.9 billion FCFA in the first quarter of 2026, representing 89.2% of the expected 292.4 billion FCFA, a shortfall of 31.5 billion. Year-on-year, customs revenue fell by 1.7% compared to 2025. The collapse of export duties is the main cause: they brought in only 15.2 billion FCFA against a forecast of 30.8 billion, a realization rate of 49.4%. Compared to March 2025, export duties dropped 47.6%, which may indicate a decline in export value or a change in structure.
